Dr Christopher Crouch is a Perth based writer, and artist who was formerly Professor of Design at Curtin University and Professor of Visual Arts at Southwest University in Chongqing, China. He holds honorary professorships in universities in Beijing and Zhengzhou. He is the author of Modernism in Art, Design and Architecture (also published in a Chinese-language edition) and Design Culture in Liverpool 1880–1914, the coauthor of Doing Research in Design, and the editor of Contemporary Chinese Visual Culture; Subjectivity, Creativity and the Institution; and An Introduction to the Aesthetics of Sustainability. Dr. Crouch was also part of the editorial team for the award-winning Chinese-language publication New Encyclopedia of Chinese Cultures. He is represented by Gallery East and his work is held in national and international collections.
